During this 6th month, baby’s moving around a lot – 30 to 60 movements every 30 minutes ! The calmer you are, the more baby will try to get your attention. In case of premature labour, he would potentially be viable in an extrauterine environment. His ears are well developed and he’s starting to listen to outside noises and voices. It's the perfect time to start intrauterine music classes because music has the effect of stimulating neurons. His eyes open when he hears voices, and he’s becoming awfully good with his hands trying to open and close them. Although his lungs are fully functioning, he would have a lot of difficulty in breathing by himself if he was born now.
He’s slowly developing a sleeping and awakening routine. Lentement, il développe une routine d’éveil et de sommeil. For him, the period of awakening is synonymous with action because he’s moving around and drinking the amniotic fluid. He may even get the hiccups and be started when he hear a sudden noise near him.
At the end of this month
Baby measures about 33 cm
Baby weighs about 850g
