It is still important to eat well even if your digestive system may be more capricious at this stage. Smaller meals taken more often will improve your nutritional intake. Some studies have shown that an adequate diet may prevent the sudden death syndrome of the newborn. Indeed, it was demonstrated that the incidence of this syndrome is higher in infants whose mothers had poor nutrition during pregnancy and in those who smoked or used substances like heroin or cocaine.
Using pillows to support your back and legs and drinking hot milk when you go to bed are simple measures that could help you to sleep much better.
At the end of your pregnancy, your doctor could recommend evaluation tests of foetal well-being. He could ask you to count the movements of your baby in a specific amount of time. In this case, he will explain the procedure. He may also want to monitor it with an instrument. This is what we call foetal non-stress test (NST) and it is recommended for women who suffer from gestational diabetes, high blood pressure decrease or sudden acceleration of foetal movements on a regular basis or after the expected delivery date.
